Tickets available for Force Friday events at Disney World, Disneyland
Disney has made a cottage industry of getting people to pay for the privilege of shopping, and the upcoming “Force Friday” is no different.
If you happen to be in Orlando or Anaheim for Force Friday, Sept. 4, $50 will get you a chance to be among the first to buy the new Star Wars merchandise, including Disney Theme Park exclusives.
Disney is opening two stores — the World of Disney Store at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney and Once Upon a Toy at Orlando’s Downtown Disney — at midnight, but only to people who buy tickets to the event.
The $50 tickets get you an early shot at the new Star Wars merchandise, including Disney Theme Park Merchandise exclusives, plus a Force Friday logo messenger bag.
On Force Friday, a host of merchandise tied to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be released, including including toys and collectibles, books and comics, apparel and accessories. Stores around the world will open at midnight local time, including all Toys ‘R’ Us locations.
When you register, you will be randomly pre-assigned a “place in line” prior to the event. You’ll check in at the store between 9 p.m. and midnight local time and will be allowed in the doors to shop between midnight and 3 a.m.
Reservations for the Force Friday merchandise event will be accepted only via www.DisneyParksMerchandise.com.
Star Wars fans have proven themselves willing to spend money to spend money: The $250 Galactic Gathering — an event that preceded “Star Wars Weekends” the past couple of years — has been very popular.
