Disney launches a year of Mickey Mouse Monthly Magic collectibles

Mickey Mouse will turn 90 in November, so it makes sense for Disney to mark the occasion with 12 months of limited edition Mickey Mouse monthly merchandise available only through ShopDisney.com. Each Monthly Magic collection will include a mug, pins, plush, and more, designed around a single theme.

The first month’s collection, released this weekend, is inspired by Steamboat Willie and Plane Crazy, which introduced Mickey Mouse to the world in 1928. The black, white, and silver plush (pictured at right) sold out quickly, so if you would like to start a collection, you may want to set a calendar reminder for the third Saturday of every month.

The February installment, which will be released Feb. 18, is inspired by Art Deco architecture of the 1920s and switches gears to gold tones. We have a preview of that below.
