Disney World ride closings and refurbishments for December 2015 and beyond

Jedi Training Academy is re-opening on Dec. 1.

The holiday season is in high gear at Disney World.  There is a lot going on and during this time that means some down time for some of the rides and attractions.

Here is a look at closings coming up December of 2015, and a little beyond.

These change constantly so make sure you check the Disney World site before you head out on your trip. (Updated: Nov. 26, 2015)

Now – Dec. 1, 2015: Jedi Training Academy at Hollywood Studios is closed for refurbishment.

Nov. 30 – Dec. 5, 2015: Sum of All Thrills at Epcot


Now – December 2015: The Monorail is going through refurbishment and may have modified times during this period. Check the park and transportation schedules.

Dec. 7  – Dec. 11, 2015: Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover at the Magic Kingdom is closed for refurbishment.

Jan. 1 – June 2, 2016: Soarin’ at Epcot will go through a major refurbishment to update the ride.


Jan. 3, 2016 – March 13, 2016: Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment.


Jan. 10-15, 2016: Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom will be refurbished.

Jan. 18 – Feb. 11, 2016: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment.
