Disney History Jan. 9: Two stars takeover, one a ride, another a character

Today in Disney history, January 9, a couple of stars are “born.”

One is a beloved Disney character who gets his first starring role in a Disney short in 1937. The other is a fan favorite ride that opened in Disneyland.
