Schedule of Disney Parks Thanksgiving, Christmas TV specials
Disneyland and Disney World will be highlighted in four television holiday specials this year, including the traditional Christmas Day special on ABC-TV.
Nov. 24, and Dec. 1, 2017: Raven-Symoné and Issac Ryan Brown from “Raven’s Home” kicks off the “Disney Parks Presents a Disney Channel Holiday Celebration,” in the DisneyNOW app Viewers who sign in to the app with a pay TV subscription will be the first to experience the show before it officially premieres on Disney Channel on Friday, Dec. 1, 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET
Special performances by “Descendants 2” stars Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, “Andi Mack” star Asher Angel, and stars of the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Zombies” Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly will be featured,
Nov. 30, 2017: “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” premieres 9 to 11 p.m. ET on The ABC Television Network and on the ABC app.Julianne Hough and Nick Lachey host the two-hour event from the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Co-host Jesse Palmer kicks off the holiday season.
Musical performances include:
- Ciara performs a joyful Christmas medley from Cinderella Castle.
- Grammy Award-winning country artist Darius Rucker sings “Winter Wonderland.”
- Multiplatinum-selling group Fifth Harmony sings “Can You See,” from “The Star” soundtrack, plus “The Christmas Song.”
- Fitz and the Tantrums performs their platinum-certified hit, “HandClap,” in addition to their original Christmas song, “Santa Stole My Lady.”
- Multi-Grammy-nominated trio, Hanson, will light up the night singing “Finally It’s Christmas,” from their recently released Christmas album.
- In Real Life, the only boy band in history voted together by America, will sing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
- Multiplatinum powerhouse Jason Derulo performs “This Christmas.”
- Emmy-nominated actress and singer Lea Michele joins the festivities with “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”
Dec. 11, 2017: Go behind-the-scenes of some of the most spectacular weddings and engagements from a Frozen-inspired wedding at Disney World to a surprise engagement at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, during “Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic,” a one-hour, holiday-themed special premiering on Dec. 11, 8p.m. ET.
Dec. 25, 2017: “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration” is hosted by Julianne Hough and Nick Lachey take viewers on a magical ride down Main Street, U.S.A. and beyond. Co-hosted by Jesse Palmer, the Christmas Day celebration includes the Christmas Day parade and musical performances by:
- Ciara sings “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” from Magic Kingdom at Disney World Resort.
- Darius Rucker decks the halls with a holiday song from his Christmas album, “Home for The Holidays.”
- Fifth Harmony takes us on a magical “Sleigh Ride.”
- Fitz and the Tantrums perform the popular Christmas hit “Last Christmas.”
- Jason Derulo sings “Silent Night” from Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Resort.
- Lea Michele sings the holiday favorite “Let It Snow.”
- 98° heats things up with their new song, “Season of Love,” from “Let It Snow,” their first full-length Christmas album in 18 years.
- Broadway’s Telly Leung and Arielle Jacobs, of the stage hit “Aladdin,” soar down to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a romantic performance of the Oscar®-winning classic “A Whole New World.”
