REVIEW and PHOTOS: ‘Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away’ at Hollywood Studios in Disney World

One of the fun things about going to Disney World is seeing the characters, and Hollywood Studios has a special set of characters you won’t meet at other parks – Star Wars characters.

Whie you can head over to the Star Wars Launch Bay and wait for a few hours in line to get autographs you can see the characters a few times a day at Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away on the stage in front of the Chinese Theater.

The show is a retelling of the Star Wars saga with Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, BB-8, Darth Maul and others. This is a speed retelling with the characters coming out one at a time for some gesturing and then going backstage. There is no real storyline like you would find at the stage show at The Magic Kingdom. But it is a lot of fun to see the characters.

The crowd normally gets into it as the screens around the stage show clips from the movies and the music blasts out the iconic music from John Williams.
Make sure that you get to the stage area at least a half hour earlier than the show. There will usually be a Stormtrooper march. After the march get close as close to the stage as you can so you can see the characters. Unlike  The Magic Kingdom which has various sloped areas to help you get a good look at the stage ,Hollywood Studios is not designed with the same slopes.
Here’s a look at the various characters.
