Disney Cruise Line announces special Thanksgiving and Christmas events

Disney normally goes all out during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season at its theme parks. The Disney Cruise Line is no different with special holiday activities throughout the end of November to the end of December.

The Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will have special events during the holidays, according to a Disney press release, including:

Mickey’s Tree-Lighting Magic: The atrium lobby on the first night of the cruise will have Disney characters leading holiday carols and the lighting of the glittering, three-deck-tall tree.

Santa’s Winter Wonderland Ball: Santa and Mrs. Claus all be in the atrium lobby with a Broadway-style celebration with Disney Characters and holiday tunes. “This evening of enchantment is made complete when a special pair of royal sisters joins the party and causes a flurry of “frozen” fun as a magical snowfall overtakes the atrium,” according to the news release.

Dickens-inspired carolers: Carolers will be going around the ship singing holiday classics.

Holiday activities: The various  holiday activities including building gingerbread houses and meeting Santa Claus.  Crafts including decorating stockings and gingerbread men cookies, making holiday cards and creating holiday animation cells. 

Deck the Deck Holiday Party:  Various games include hula hooping and limbo under oversized candy canes.
On Thanksgiving Day, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed in traditional Thanksgiving attire will host a special Thanksgiving feast.  Also during the special Thanksgiving voyages, NFL football games will be broadcast live on the ships’ outdoor, jumbo LED screens – Funnel Vision – located near the family pool.

Christmas morning at the atrium lobby tree Santa Claus and his helpers will have a surprise for all the kids, and guests.  A traditional Christmas Dinner will be served that night in the dining rooms.

At Disney’s Castaway Cay private island in the Bahamas, guests will have special Disney character it and greets, a decked-out Christmas tree, and special “snow flurries.”
