Disney offers valuable new discount for DVC members

Disney is offering a valuable new discount as part of the 25th anniversary of the Disney Vacation Club: DVC members now can get a 25% discount on private VIP tours at Disney World.

VIP tours normally cost $400-$600 per hour, depending on the season, for a minimum of 7 continuous hours. That brings the total cost to $2,800-$4,200 for the day— or $2,100-$3,150 with the discount.

For most of us, the discount still won’t bring this experience into the “affordable” column, but your group can include up to 10 people, so you can share the cost with your family and friends.

With a VIP tour, you get to skip the lines at FastPass attractions — or, as they say in the brochure, “enjoy some of your favorite attractions efficiently, even repeatedly” — and you get preferred viewing areas for parades, shows and fireworks. All you have to do is tell the tour guide what you want to see, and they will arrange everything. You even choose the start time you want.
