Custom Star Wars-inspired furniture for your wish list

Tom Spina Designs is known as a firm that creates statues, sculpture and mannequins and works to restore film props and costumes. It also creates custom furniture pieces, including desks and coffee tables.

Spina himself also is known as a Star Wars superfan, and that is frequently reflected in his firm’s work.

The design firm’s latest Star Wars-related creation: a coffee table that will give your guests a close-up view of the demise of Boba Fett in the Sarlacc Pit.

You can see Boba Fett’s arm desperately clawing for purchase to the right, while the Sarlacc begins to devour him. This is perhaps not the best choice for the family that likes to eat in front of the TV.

The coffee table was custom-designed for a client, so it’s not something you can find online. But we thought it would be fun to share the Sarlacc Pit, as well as some of the firm’s other designs, all of which you can ogle at your leisure on its website.

Our favorite? This Han Solo in carbonite desk, which it would be a shame to cover up with a laptop:

Richard Riley, lead artist on the project.

This piece was created for musician Mark Hall, who eventually auctioned off the one-of-a-kind desk for $10,000 to raise money for the World Vision Charity.

Another favorite: a coffee table featuring the Millennium Falcon’s escape through an asteroid field. The detail image shows an Tie Fighter in hot pursuit.

One more custom coffee table inspired by Star Wars takes its cue from the Empire Strikes Back, where Luke Skywalker retrieved his light sabre from the snow in the Wampa Cave:

And finally … why use boring wainscot when you can hire these guys to make your home theater feel a little more like the Death Star itself? For this home theater project, the team created Death Star tiles to adorn the room under the screen and along the walls.
