Disney to Launch New Pop-Up Stores in Pittsburgh and New Jersey
What’s old is new again. Disney is making a bold return to U.S. brick-and-mortar retail, unveiling plans for new pop-up stores in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
The “Disney Store Limited Time” initiative, in partnership with Go! Retail Group brings Disney storytelling to life with engaging, in-person shopping experiences.
The expansion begins in Western Pennsylvania, with the first location opening at Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh on May 23, 2026, followed by Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, New Jersey, opening in fall 2026.
Disney says these locations will feature exclusive merchandise, signature touches, daily opening ceremonies, and immersive designs celebrating Disney fandom.
The move marks a significant shift in Disney’s retail strategy following several years of contraction. Between 2021 and 2022, Disney shuttered the vast majority of its standalone brick-and-mortar stores globally—including nearly 60 locations in North America—to focus on its e-commerce platform, DisneyStore.com, and “shop-in-shop” concepts within Target department stores, as we reported in 2021. One of the stores closed was at the Garden State Plaza Mall, where the pop-up store will be located later this year.
While the digital shift enabled broader reach, many fans lamented the loss of Disney magic in physical locations. The new partnership with Go! Retail Group aims to reconnect with these fans, combining short-term lease flexibility and the creative, high-quality environments Disney is known for.
Though only two locations are announced, the “Disney Store Limited Time” brand suggests more pop-up experiences may appear in 2026 and beyond.
