Photos: Cinderella Castle Repainting Nearing Completion

The EARidescent era is officially drawing to a close as the finishing touches are applied to the repainting of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.

For the past few years, the iconic landmark has sported a bold, rose-gold pink hue and vibrant royal blue turrets in celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. However, recent sightings show crews stripping away the festive “party dress” in favor of a more classic, timeless aesthetic.

While the castle isn’t returning to its original 1971 gray-and-blue palette, the new look appears to be a sophisticated middle ground. Key changes include

  • Subdued Stones: The intense pink “blush” on the upper walls has been softened to a warm, neutral peach-gold.
  • Refreshed Accents: The bright, saturated blues on the spires are being touched up to maintain their luster without the heavy iridescent overlays.

The repainting project has been a gradual process, often taking place overnight or via high-reach lifts during park hours to minimize guest impact. Fans have noted that the new (or rather, refreshed) color scheme seems designed to pop against the Florida sky while looking more natural in photographs than the high-contrast anniversary colors.
