New Aerial Photos of the Monsters, Inc. Land Under Construction at Hollywood Studios

Thanks to incredible aerial photos from the eagle-eyed @bioreconstruct, we’re getting our clearest look yet at the massive expansion of Monstropolis taking place at Hollywood Studios in Disney World.

The latest aerial photos paint a clear picture of the scale of this ambitious project. A colossal show building is rapidly taking shape behind the scenes at Hollywood Studios, hinting at the immense scope of this upcoming Monster’s Inc. attraction. This isn’t just a small addition; this is a major new landmark in the making, designed to house what promises to be one of Disney’s most innovative rides yet.

This signature attraction will immerse guests in the heart of the Monsters, Inc. door vault, where they’ll embark on a thrilling roller coaster adventure.

This ride will feature the first suspended coaster in any Disney Park, promising a unique sensation as you zip, dive, and swing through the intricate world of the door vault. This ride will also feature a vertical lift to start the ride.

For perspective, let’s first take a look at the layout of the park. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge standing prominently in the foreground, you can clearly see to the right of the photo just how much space the new ride building is occupying. It is a colossal footprint, carving out a significant portion of what was previously the parking area

From overhead, you can see a concrete floor that was poured and electrical conduits that are being buried in sand. There are also concrete forms in some areas.
