10 Ways Disney California Adventure is Celebrating its 25th Anniversary
The landscape of Southern California tourism changed forever in early 2001 when the Disneyland Resort officially doubled its footprint, debuting a second theme park, a flagship luxury hotel, and a premier retail district. This year, there will be 25th-anniversary celebrations for Disney California Adventure Park, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Downtown Disney District.
This “Silver Milestone” arrives during an unprecedented year for the resort, coinciding with the ongoing Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. From high-tech collectibles to the debut of a brand-new “Soarin’” adventure, here is how the resort is marking a quarter-century of magic beginning this February:

1. Meet Mickey and Minnie in Throwback Threads
Starting Feb. 6, catch Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse on Buena Vista Street sporting all-new anniversary outfits. Their looks feature sun motifs and a vibrant palette that pays homage to the park’s original “golden possibility” theme from 2001.
2. Take Flight with the Return of “Soarin’ Over California”
The fan-favorite original version of the attraction returns for a limited run from Feb. 6 through July 1. Smell the orange groves and glide over the Golden Gate Bridge once again to the iconic Jerry Goldsmith score.
3. Witness the Debut of “Soarin’ Across America”
The celebration reaches new heights on July 2 when the park debuts an all-new airborne adventure: Soarin’ Across America. This premiere coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary, offering a fresh perspective on the beauty of the United States.

4. Grab the Interactive Pixar Pal-A-Round Bucket
This isn’t just a popcorn bucket; it’s a piece of tech. Modeled after the iconic Ferris wheel, this bucket features “Magic Inside” technology that reacts to specific locations and nighttime spectaculars in both parks with synchronized light patterns.
5. Indulge in the Schmoozies! Anniversary Shake
From Feb. 6–15, head to Hollywood Land for a decadent Cake Shake. This confetti-filled strawberry shake is topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and—most importantly—an actual slice of celebratory cake.
6. Shop the 25th Anniversary Collection
Commemorate the milestone with apparel and a set of three collectible pins. The artwork features stylized illustrations of park icons like Carthay Circle, Pixar Pal-A-Round, and Grizzly Peak. Find them at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, or Seaside Souvenirs.
7. Collect a Complimentary Commemorative Map
If you are visiting on the actual anniversary—Feb. 8, 2026—be sure to grab a special commemorative map at the turnstiles. These are available in limited quantities for guests with a valid park ticket and reservation.

8. Dine with Humphrey the Bear
For the first time ever in a Disney Park, Humphrey the Bear will make appearances at Storytellers Cafe in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Starting February 6, the snack-loving grizzly joins Donald’s Tales of Adventure dinner buffet.

9. Secure the Grand Californian Anniversary Pin
Visit Acorns Gifts & Goods for a limited-edition pin featuring Chip ‘n’ Dale in front of the hotel’s famous Craftsman façade. It’s the perfect keepsake for fans of the resort’s most elegant lodging.
10. Toast the Milestone at Downtown Disney
The promenade is joining the party with exclusive treats through August 9, including:
- Bananas Foster Beignets at Beignets Expressed.
- The French “70” Cocktail at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio.
- Macaron Croissants at Kayla’s Cake.
- Incredi-Bitz at Wetzel’s Pretzels.
