Disney World to serve as backdrop for Lacey Chabert’s next Hallmark Holiday movie
In a historic collaboration between two titans of holiday cheer, the Hallmark Channel and Disney World have announced their first-ever original movie partnership. Titled Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, the film is currently in production around the resort.
The project was officially unveiled Saturday by Hallmark veteran Lacey Chabert during a special broadcast from the Magic Kingdom. The movie is slated to headline the 17th annual “Countdown to Christmas” event in 2026.
The film anchors its “pixie dust” with two of Hallmark’s most recognizable stars. Lacey Chabert, often dubbed the “Queen of Christmas,” is a seasoned veteran of the network. With over 30 Hallmark titles to her name, including hits like Haul Out the Holly and The Wedding Veil trilogy, Chabert has become the face of the holiday season for millions of viewers.
Joining her is Travis Van Winkle, who has also built a significant resume within the Hallmark universe. Having starred in titles such as ’Tis the Season to be Merry and Christmas Getaway, Van Winkle is no stranger to the romantic, festive storytelling that is the hallmark of the network. Their combined experience brings a level of “Christmas credibility” to a project that Disney officials describe as a “dream come true.”
The story follows Lindsey (Chabert) as she travels to Disney World for a family Christmas. Her plans for a peaceful getaway are upended when she discovers her hotel room is adjacent to Philip (Van Winkle), a man with whom she recently shared a disastrous first date.
As their paths cross throughout the theme parks and resorts, the “frost starts to thaw.” Thanks to some Disney World magic, the holiday wish Lindsey made in the Cinderella Fountain just might turn their rivalry into romance.
Others appearing in the movie include:
- Richard Kind (Only Murders in the Building)
- Christy Carlson Romano (Kim Possible)
- Patrick Renna (The Sandlot) in a cameo role
- Bryce Durfee (Yellowstone)
- Taegen Burns (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers)
- Asher Alexander (Hal and Harper)
While this is their first film together, the history between Hallmark and Disney dates back to the early days of animation. Hallmark’s founder, J.C. Hall, and Walt Disney shared a Kansas City connection that led to the first-ever licensed greeting cards featuring Mickey Mouse.
“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership beyond the products we create together and onto the screen,” said Darren Abbott, Hallmark’s Chief Brand Officer. “This film embodies the very best of both brands.”
Sally Conner, VP of Global Content at Disney, echoed the sentiment, noting that the “The Most Magical Place On Earth” serves as the perfect immersive setting for a story focused on festive joy and “pixie dust.”
