Some Disney World ticket prices crack $200 a day in 2026
Walt Disney World has increased ticket prices for the second time this year, for 2026, as tickets for October 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, are now available for purchase.
The increases range from $5 to $10, depending on the day and time of year. In 2026, a Disney World ticket price will reach a new high, surpassing the $200 mark for a 1-day admission ticket to Magic Kingdom. The new peak price, for the busiest times of the year during Christmas and New Year’s to enter Magic Kingdom, increased from $199 to $209.
There are also some instances where tickets for certain days will be cheaper in 2026 than in 2025. Such is the case on a Saturday in July, where tickets are still $5 cheaper in 2026 than the same Saturday in 2025.
Comparing ticket prices has become increasingly more complicated over the years as Disney adopted a date-based pricing system in 2018 aimed to better manage park attendance by adjusting ticket prices according to expected crowd levels. The underlying principle is that higher demand days will command higher prices, while less popular days will offer more affordable options.
Disney hopes that some people might decide to change when they visit based on the lower prices and the slower times of year. The reality is that when people visit with children, they are almost always locked into school schedules and don’t have a lot of wiggle room.
Those more “affordable options” have slowly dwindled over the past few years. You will more likely see cheaper options available in late August and mid-September. Again, this is when kids return to school, and families will most likely not be coming.
Now, the reason we say this is the second increase for 2026 is that in April of this year, Disney released tickets and prices for January 2026 through the end of September 2026. When releasing tickets for the remainder of the year on Oct. 8, 2025, Disney revised all of those ticket prices. (Special note: For those of you who have already purchased tickets for 2026, take note that nothing changes for you.)
Those ticket revisions increased those ticket prices by about $5 additional dollars.
To give everyone an idea of the changes, we looked at the prices for a few days in July 2024 and 2025, 2026, which is considered the high season, and September 2024, 2025, 2026, which is considered low season. We also picked the same day of the week in both cases to keep the comparison more equal. These are the general public ticket prices.
Ultimately, planning a Disney World vacation in 2026 will necessitate careful consideration of travel dates to optimize ticket costs. While some peak season dates show a slight decrease compared to the previous year, prices during traditionally slower periods have seen a modest rise.
