Disney launches Tiana’s new traveling exhibit in 2026
Get ready to “dig a little deeper” into the world of Princess Tiana! Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis today announced “Tiana’s Joyful Celebration,” a groundbreaking traveling exhibition set to bring the magic and vibrancy of New Orleans to families nationwide.
Set to launch on March 7, 2026, at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, this fully immersive experience will then embark on a nationwide tour to 12 additional cities starting in 2027, making it accessible to communities across the country.
Following the success of the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort last year, “Tiana’s Joyful Celebration” extends the beloved princess’s story into an interactive museum setting. Visitors will be transported to New Orleans, engaging in multi-sensory experiences inspired by the city’s rich music, delectable food, and vibrant culture.
The exhibition’s narrative centers around Princess Tiana’s plan to host a community parade. However, a last-minute schedule change means Tiana and her friends – critters included – need the community’s help to put the finishing touches on their floats. Guests will answer Tiana’s call for assistance, contributing their unique talents to décor, music, food, costumes, and more. This collaborative effort will immerse participants in the festive spirit of New Orleans’ Mardi Gras celebrations, emphasizing themes of community, creativity, and the joy of coming together.
This innovative collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis aims to blend Disney’s renowned storytelling with educational excellence. The shared vision is to celebrate diverse cultures and foster creativity, offering an unforgettable family experience that goes beyond entertainment.
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, is a fitting first stop for this landmark exhibition. As the world’s largest children’s museum, it spans 485,000 square feet of indoor exhibits, including the popular Dinosphere, and 7.5 acres of outdoor space in the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. Named the best children’s museum in the country by USA Today for three consecutive years, it is dedicated to igniting joy, wonder, and curiosity through powerful learning experiences for all ages.
