Baby addax born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney World has some wonderful Mother’s Day news to share. Last month, Juniper, a critically endangered addax, welcomed a precious baby addax named Ginny.

Currently bonding backstage through nursing and nurturing, Juniper and Ginny will soon join the herd, Disney announced.

Adding to the heartwarming news, Violet, another addax mother, is proudly watching her calf, Henry, explore the Uzima Savanna with the rest of their family. These births are particularly significant given the addax’s critically endangered status, as designated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature

The birth of Ginny is just one in a string of babies at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Others recently welcome include:

  • Tucker: A bright eyed endangered Masai giraffe calf, who made his savanna debut last month.
  • Three new Asian small-clawed otter pups: This trio has captured the hearts of guests who have watched them explore and splash around the Otter Grotto.
  • Basko: A tuger cub born to mother Sohni. The two can be seen on the  Maharajah Jungle Trek.
