
Valentine’s Day special foods that last throughout most of the month, the annual Celebrate Soulfully events honoring Black History Month, a few more ride refurbishment closures, the end of a festival and a the Princess Half Marathon are just a few of the things going at at Disney World this February 2025.

Disney World February 2025
- Walt Disney World Princess Half Marathon Weekend — Feb. 20-24, 2025–– Runners from around the globe descend on Disney World.
- Disney After Hours– These separately ticketed events at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT have a limited number of guests allowed to stay three hours after the park closes and let you in at 7 p.m., a couple of hours before the park closes. In addition to the shorter lines because of less people, those attending can also indulge in snacks like ice cream, popcorn, and select drinks included on the ticket. Here are the nights of the events:
- Magic Kingdom – Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24
- Hollywood Studios – Feb. 12 and 19
- EPCOT – Feb. 27
- Extended Evening Hours – Eligible Deluxe hotel guests can stay at some theme parks for a few hours after official closing, here is the schedue:
- Feb. 3 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom – 7 to 9 p.m.
- Feb. 5 – Magic Kingdom – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 10- EPCOT – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 12 – Magic Kingdom – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 17 – EPCOT – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 19- Magic Kingdom – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 24 – EPCOT – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Feb. 26 – Magic Kingdom – 9 to 11 p.m.
- Celebrating Valentine’s Day – Disney has a way of celebrating all events and it usually involves food. Valentine’s Day is no different. Walt Disney World Resort is promising a number of special fooods in February.

Magic Kingdom
- Tamron Hall Grand Marshal of Parade –Feb. 1 – Black History Month at Walt Disney World is kicking off with a little extra glam! Emmy-winning journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall will lead the way as Grand Marshal in a magical parade at Magic Kingdom Park on Feb. 1. Guests will be able to see her along the parade route, through the park and down Main Street, U.S.A., around 3 p.m.
- The Astro Orbiter – Closed for refurbishment – The Tomorrowland attraction is closed with a planned reopening in the summer of 2025.
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Closed for refurbishment – The Adventureland attraction is closed for a long refurbishment. The ride will reopen sometime in 2026.
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – Queue refurbishment – The indoor queue will close for refurbishment on Feb. 24 and reopen sometime during the Spring 2025. The ride will remain open.
- Hall of Presidents. Closed for refurbishment – As the change in the presidency takes place, the attraction closed for changes. No reopening date has been announced.
- Super Bowl Parade – Possibly Feb. 10, 2025 – Normally, the day after the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl MVP parades down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom or Disneyland. Since the Super Bowl is taking place in New Orleans, it is likely that the champs will head to Disney World.
Hollywood Studios
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure – Closed for refurbishment. This attraction which is replacing the Voyage of Little Mermaid is expected to open in summer 2025.
- Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – Closing for refurbishment – This dining experience at Grand Avenue will have its last day to dine on May 10.
- Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo – Closing for refurbishment – Muppet*Vision 3D last day of operation is June 7. The closure will make way for the changeover of the area to Monsters Inc. land.
Animal Kingdom
- TriceraTop Spin and Fossil Fun Games – Closed Permanently. This section of Dinoland U.S.A. is now closed to make way for the Tropical Americas area coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- Kali River Rapids – Closed for Refurbishment. Known for its guaranteed soaking, this water ride istemporarily closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen sometime in March.
- Bat Exhibit – Closed for refurbishment. Starting Feb. 17 the bat exhibit at Maharajah Jungle Trek will be closed for refurbishment. The area is expected to reopen in early March 2025.
EPCOT
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros – Closed for refurbishment. The boat ride that follows Donald Duck Panchito and José Carioca on a journey through Mexico in the Mexico Pavilion is expected to reopen on March 15, 2025.
- Test Track – Closed for an extended refurbishment – Test Track closed on June 16, 2024 for an extensive reimagining. It is expected to reopen in summer 2025.
- EPCOT International Festival of the Arts — Ends on Feb. 24, 2025 – This festival offers the opportunity to meet Disney artists, eat special foods and has the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. And yes, there are special food booths. Each night throughout the festival concerts take place at the America Gardens Theatre. (Your Guide to the festival here.)

Disney Springs
- Celebrate Soulfully – Feb. 1 – 28 – As part of celebrating Black History Month, Disney Springs all feature a number of events, including the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression where stunning artwork is featured by many talented artists including Ernest Shaw, Nneka Jones, Nardstar and Marci Swett. And in February, a brand-new mural by Washington, D.C.-based artist Brandon Hill will make its debut. Hear to Art of Disney for the Animator Spotlight, where you can celebrate animators and the contribution they have made through Disney films and television. Be on the lookout for appearances from talented African-American animators as part of this series. Visit the House of Blues and Vvew art and music portraying 20th-century Black Americans in a powerful representation of the cultural journey toward healing the traumas of slavery and systemic racism. Did you know the House of Blues is home to the largest permanently displayed collection of Outsider and American Folk Art, often referred to as Southern Vernacular Art.
Water Parks
- Typhoon Lagoon – Closed for refurbishment . The park is closed for annual refurbishment. In the meantime Blizzard Beach is operating. There is no indication when Typhoon Lagoon will be operating again.
Disney Resorts
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Room refurbishment work will take place from September 2024 to September 2025.
- Beach Club Resort – Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed and undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
- BoardWalk Inn and Villas – Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas are being refurbished with new offerings; plus, updates to Guest rooms, lobby and more. While most Resort hotel amenities will remain available, you may be able to see and hear construction during daytime hours. Additionally, please allow for additional travel time. In addition, from January 2025 through May 2025, the merchandise locations along Disney’s BoardWalk will be refurbished in phases. Two merchandise locations will remain available for Guests throughout the refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see and hear construction activity in the area.
- JellyRolls – Closing permanently. Jellyrolls dueling piano bar will hold its last performance on April 19.
- Carribbean Beach Resort: Sebastian’s Bistro will temporarily close for refurbishment starting March 24, 2025. The restaurant is expected to reopen by the end of March 2025.
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – The resort will undergo refurbishment from mid-May 2025 to September 2025. All resort amenities will remain available but guests may notice construction work during the day.
- Grand Floridian – The Courtyard Pool, spa, and Courtyard Pool Bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is now closed and will remain closed through late February 2025, for routine maintenance on the Courtyard Pool building.
- Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside – Refurbishment of the room at Magnolia Bend will take place from early April 2025 through the end of January 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. This is in addition to the work being done now at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter which will continue through Spring 2025.
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort – Guest rooms will go through refurbishment from late March 2025 to mid-February 2026. All resort amenities will remain available but guests may see construction during the day.
