Road closures due to the Disney World Marathon weekend 2025
There will be some road closures around Walt Disney World roadways later this week during the 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon events take place during the 2025 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. These road closures for the events are planned to minimize disruption.
Most of the closings should not impact those heading to the theme parks during the 5K and 10K races taking place on Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, but the Half Marathon and Marathon on Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 could cause delays if you were planning to get to the parks very early, especially if you are planning on taking Western Way.
The race weekend consists of four races, a 5K on Jan. 9, a 10K on Jan.10, the Half-Marathon on Jan. 11 and Marathon on Jan. 12.
The upcoming closure and refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom will mean the route for The Walt Disney World Marathon 2025 will be altered.

Merchandise for the event will be available at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo. All guests, runners and non-participants are invited to attend during the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, January 9, 2025, Noon to 7 p.m.
- Friday, January 10, 2025, Noon to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, January 11, 2025, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m
