New Princess float unveiled for upcoming nighttime Magic Kingdom parade
As Disney World gears up for the debut of its captivating new nighttime Magic Kingdom parade, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” the creative team is looking back to the magic of the past. The parade, which is to debut in summer 2025, draws inspiration not only from the rich history of nighttime spectacles at the Magic Kingdom but also from the artistry of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ earliest animated masterpieces.
This reverence for the past will be beautifully showcased in the parade’s recently unveiled princess unit. This enchanting segment pays homage to the visionary work of Disney Legend and renowned artist Mary Blair, specifically her original concept artwork for the beloved animated classic, “Cinderella.”
Anchored by a radiant fountain of light that overflows to illuminate a cosmic ballroom, a majestic float takes center stage in this enchanting new parade. This dazzling centerpiece is just one element of the constellation of classic and contemporary stories that make up “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.”
As the cavalcade floods Main Street, U.S.A. with a bed of starlight, beloved moments from Disney Animation’s “Moana,” “Peter Pan,” “Frozen,” “Encanto,” and many more will unfold before your eyes, immersing you in a magical journey through your favorite tales.
To bring this celestial vision to life, the talented Disney Live Entertainment Costuming team has been diligently crafting a whole fleet of shimmering garments, ensuring that every step of the “Disney Starlight” procession sparkles with enchantment.
Employing a blend of cutting-edge lighting techniques and whimsical, custom-crafted fabrics, the talented team is meticulously constructing each costume to be “kissed by starlight.”
