Disney World unveils new villains show name at Hollywood Studios

The new villains show opening at Hollywood Studios in Disney World in the summer of 2025 now has a name – “Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After.”

The name was announced during Disney’s holiday special on Dec. 1.

This new live entertainment show will take place in Sunset Showcase, which was home to Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy that closed on Oct. 7.

The Magic Mirror will serve as the centerpiece of the show as villains such as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent break through the glass and take center stage and tell their stories. (Those poor unfortunate souls).

No specific date has been announced and the show is not considered to permanent. The timing makes sense with the closing of the announcement of the changeover of the wo major announcements for Disney’s Hollywood Studios were dropped this morning. The beloved MuppetVision 3D will close, and the Muppet Courtyard will be rethemed for the new Monsters, Inc. land that was previously announced.

While the land was announced, Disney had not provided the location until today.

To make way for the new residents, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the Electric Mayhem “will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, teaming up with some of music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival!” Disney announced.

The Sunset Showcase will be transformed from Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy into the mysterious Magic Mirror realm. Lightning McQueen’s will close Oct. 7.
