What’s open, closed happening at Disney World in October 2024

Walt Disney World goes all out fall in October 2024, as we hope the weather starts to cool down and take on a seasonal charm.

It’s important to note that certain attractions or areas may be closed for refurbishment or seasonal adjustments during October To ensure a seamless and enjoyable visit, it’s recommended to check the latest updates on Walt Disney World’s official website or mobile app.

Here’s a complete list of everything open, closed and what’s coming to Disney World in October 2024.

Disney World October 2024

  • Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month: Sept. 15- Oct. 15 –  Guests can join the celebration with six new and returning experiences. Enjoy festive music, delicious food, and more. The details are here.
  • Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend — Oct. 31 – Nov. 3, 2024 – The last of the marathon weekends for 2024 takes place. 

Magic Kingdom

  • Jungle Cruise: Closed for refurbishment  The attraction is closed for refurbishment and is scheduled to reopen on Oct. 18. 

Hollywood Studios

  • The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure – Closed for refurbishment. Opening in the Fall – The reimagined theatrical production is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic “The Little Mermaid” and will be presented in the newly refreshed Animation Courtyard theater. Guests will experience a sea of sensations through the magic of breathtaking set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold design that brings Ariel’s world to life. They will also be able to join in the fin-flipping fun with musical numbers like “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and other music from the beloved Disney animated classic. 

Animal Kingdom

  • No closures reported.

EPCOT

  • EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival  The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is taking place through Nov. 23 and each night throughout the month are bands that are part of the Eat to the Beat Concert series. This is the lineup.
    • Oct. 1-3 – Latin Ambition
    • Oct. 4-5 – Aloe Blacc
    • Oct. 6-7 – Joey Fatone & Friends
    • Oct. 8-10 – Funkafied
    • Oct. 11-12 – We The Kings
    • Oct. 13-14 – Switchfoot
    • Oct. 15-17 – Gilly and the Girl
    • Oct. 18-19 – David Archuleta
    • Oct. 20-21 – Billy Ocean
    • Oct. 22-24 – Hayfire
    • Oct. 25-28 – Hanson
    • Oct. 29-31 – Evolution Motown
  • Test Track – Closed for an extended refurbishment – Test Track closed on June 16 for an extensive reimagining. Details on when the revamped ride will return remain shrouded in mystery. Imagineers along with teams from Chevrolet are reaching back into history for inspiration – from the original World of Motion – and bringing that spirit of optimism to the next iteration of the attraction.
  • Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is now back and will last through Nov. 1. Join in the fun and search for hidden pumpkins throughout the park. Once you’ve found them all, redeem your game board for a special surprise.

Disney Springs

  • Harry Styles’ beauty and lifestyle brand, Pleasing, has opened a pop-up shop at Disney Springs to promote a new “Fantasia”-themed collaboration with Disney. The 30-piece collection is available through Oct. 27 at the former NBA Experience between M&M’s and City Works Eatery and Pour House.

Blizzard Beach

  • Closed for refurbishment – Reopening on Nov. 4 –  The park is closed for annual refurbishment and will reopen when Typhoon Lagoon closes on Nov. 4. 

Disney Resorts

  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Room refurbishment work will take place from September 2024 to September 2025.
  • Beach Club Resort – Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025.
  • BoardWalk Inn and Villas – Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas are being refurbished with new offerings; plus, updates to Guest rooms, lobby and more. While most Resort hotel amenities will remain available, you may be able to see and hear construction during daytime hours. Additionally, please allow for additional travel time.
  • Polynesian Village Resort – Now through Fall 2024, work will take place to paint the exterior of buildings throughout Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort & Bungalows, with Guest room balconies also being affected. Guests may see and hear painting work during daytime hours, typically from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Port Orleans – French Quarter – Now through November 2024, some guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.
