Disneyland unions reach tentative agreement with Disney

Disneyland unions have reached a tentative three-year agreement with Disney averting a possible strike, according to a notice posted on union UFCW324’s website.

Disneyland Resort employees represented by the Master Services Council, an alliance of unions representing custodians, ride operators, candy makers, merchandise clerks and other Disneyland employees, overwhelmingly authorized a strike by a margin of 99% on Friday.  The near-unanimous vote signifies the depth of worker frustration and their willingness to walk off the job if negotiations fail. The unions represent about 14,000 workers.

On Wednesday, July 24, the union announced that a tentative deal was reached. “We achieved our goals – a three-year contract that contains significant wage increases for all cast members, seniority increases and the retention of premiums. We also addressed issues that will make the attendance policy work better for cast members,” according to the union statement.

The final vote on the tentative agreement will take place Monday, July 29, 2024 from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
