Signs added for store at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disney World
The Briar Patch store at the former Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom has been renamed Critter Co-Op as construction continues for the makeover to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, expected to open this summer at Walt Disney World.
New signage has been put up in the exterior of the location, according to photos provided by Disney. What the interior will sell is unknown at this point, but it could be a fun little gift store containing items created by the various critters who live in the bayou.
We do know, by some additional signage in the window, that this is the place for the critters to shop. According to the rules, all critters are welcome, there’s no such thing as a wrong a note, and the dress code is swampy casual (I suppose that replaces the no shirt, no shoes, no service sign usually seen at the front of stores).
It’s also a place they gather to share notes, as the board also has advertisements for a new drummer, cooking class and how to learn to quilt (pine needles and threads are provided.)
The attraction is set to open this summer, no specific date has yet been announced, but there are rumors that it might open in June or July, which makes sense since this is a water ride. The story of the ride will pick up where the film left off as guests join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure down the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends and travel through the bayou to original music inspired by songs from the film.
