Is new ‘Tiana’s Perfect Plan’ picture book based on the new ride?

Tony-Award winner, Disney Legend and voice of Tiana, Anika Noni Rose, is releasing a new children’s picture book “Tiana’s Perfect Plan,” which sounds as if it is the storyline for the new “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” expected to open this summer at Walt Disney World and later at Disneyland.

If this is the storyline, then we might get to meet Prince Naveen’s parents on the ride.

According to Disney, the story behind the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland attraction is as follows: “The story of the ride will pick up where the film left off as guests join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure down the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome. Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends and travel through the bayou to original music inspired by songs from the film.”

The new book, with illustrations by Olivia Duchess, will be available on Oct. 22. You can pre-order the book here. The story description is as follows:

“After traveling all winter, Tiana and Naveen are back in New Orleans in time for Mardi Gras. Tiana wants everything to be just right, putting the finishing touches on their party favors and parade float.

“But then she gets an unexpected letter from Naveen’s parents, the king and queen of Maldonia. They’ve decided to join the celebration!

“Determined to make it the best Mardi Gras ever, Tiana sets out on a new adventure with some old friends to find the perfect ingredients for a special addition. But soon she finds that perfect might not be the goal . . . and she may already have all she needs.”

The two storylines sound very similar. The book sounds like a great companion piece for the attraction.
