Who are the bunnies on the Easter Egg hunt around EPCOT?

Every year, Walt Disney World hosts its eagerly anticipated annual Egg-Stravaganza Hunt , featuring charming bunnies adorning Easter eggs scattered throughout EPCOT. The 12 eggs colorful eggs are nestled in public areas and if you don’t have a map you should still be able to find them.

This special hunt during the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will run through April 9 or while supplies last. The cost is $9.99 The year’s prize selection is one of six different Easter egg character charms featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip, Dale, Thumper or Judy Hopps.

Amidst the excitement of the hunt, a question arises: Do you know where the bunnies are from? The map provides the names, but do you really know what movies they are from? Embark with us on a journey to uncover the stories and origins behind each bunny.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (found in Morocco) was Walt Disney’s first big start. Walt and Ub Iwerks created him for Universal Pictures and first appeared in “Trolley Troubles” on Sept. 5, 1927. Walt Disney never owned the rights to Oswald and due to a financial falling out with the film’s producer, Oswald was lost to Wall. In 2006, The Walt Disney Company acquired the rights to Oswald bringing him back into the fold. .

Thumper, (found in China) is one of Bambi’s buddies and appeared in the 1942 animated film “Bambi.” He is called Thumper for his habit of thumping his left hind foot.

Miss Bunny (found in Norway) appears only briefly in “Bambi” and is Thumper’s love interest. Her only line in the film is “Hello” and that’s all it takes for Thumper to fall in love.

White Rabbit (found in Mexico) is know for the line in “Alice in Wonderland,” – “I’m late! I’m late for a very important date! No time to say “Hello”, goodbye! I’m late, I’m late, I’m late!” He gets the attention of Alice who follows him down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. He serves as the Queen of Heart’s royal herald.

March Hare (found in the United Kingdom) is also from “Alice in Wonderland” and is the Mad Hatter’s best friend. You can fund the March Hare drinking tea and attending “unbirthday”  parties.

Skippy (found in France) is from the 193 film “Robin Hood.” and is a very excitable 7-year-old rabbit who is the eldest boy of his family. He is known for idolizing Robin Hood.

Rabbit (found in Italy) is part of the Pooh Crew. His first appeared in Disney’s 1966 short “Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.” He is compulsive, fussy and like to live his life “by-the-book.”

Bean Bunny (found in the American Adventure) comes from the Muppets and is best known at Walt Disney World for starring in Muppet*Vision 3D at Hollywood Studios. He first appeared in 1986 as the star of a TV special “The Tale of the Bunny Picnic.”

Alec Azam (found in Germany) is a Pixar rabbit from the short “Presto.” Alec is the companion of  Presto DiGiotagione’s and is supposed to do a magic trick with the magician, but ends up in a a hilarious dispute with the magician until he gets his carrot.

Jackalope (found in Canada) is also from Pixar’s short “Boundin'” In the film a sheep dances proudly in his southwestern landscape, until one day his wool is sheared and he is left naked. He’s depressed and shy, until a cheerful the Jackalope comes along and shows him how to leap proudly and not to be ashamed.

Officer Judy Hopps ( found in The Odyssey) is the star of Disney’s “Zootopia” and is determined to make the world a better place while breaking misconceptions about other species.

Ducky & Bunny (found in Japan) are a hilarious pair found in Pixar’s “Toy Story 4.” They are two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are unintentionally interrupted by Buzz Lightyear, who took their prized place, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall, not being loved by a kid yet.
