2 big Disney rides closing for lengthy refurbishments

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith and Kali River Rapids will both be closing after this weekend for extended refurbishments.

The Kali River Rapids water ride at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World will close starting on Jan. 8, 2024. Its last day of operation will be Sunday, Jan. 7 and is expected to reopen in mid-March. T

It is normal this time of year for the water ride to go down for refurbishment. 

The fan-favorite Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios will close down for refurbishment starting Jan. 8, 2024. The last day of operation will be Jan. 7, 2024. The ride, according to Disney, is expected to reopen in the summer.

The coaster has been experiencing some reliability issues in the past year, with the ride going down for hours and, at times, days.
