Video: Las Posadas celebration at EPCOT
In a vibrant tribute to the rich cultural tapestry of Mexico, Walt Disney World invites visitors to immerse themselves in the storytelling of Las Posadas from Sunday through Thursday at the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT.
Las Posadas, translating to “The Inns” in Spanish, vividly reenacts the couple’s quest for a sanctuary where Mary could safely give birth to baby Jesus. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of the historical search for lodging in Bethlehem, where Joseph and Mary, faced with the unavailability of shelter, ultimately found refuge in a humble stable, birthing the Christ Child.
This religious celebration, deeply rooted in Mexican and United States traditions, pays homage to the arduous journey undertaken by Joseph and Mary from Nazareth to Bethlehem and annually takes place from Dec. 16 to 24.
This cherished festival weaves together faith, tradition, and the universal spirit of the holiday season. It’s a time to reflect, appreciate, and embrace the diversity that makes our global celebrations truly special.
There are numerous storytellers throughout EPCOT.
