Kali River Rapids closing for refurbishment in January 2024

The Kali River Rapids water ride at Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World will close on Jan. 8, 2024 for an extended refurbishment.

The last day of operation for the ride is listed as Sunday, Jan. 7. There is no mention on The Walt Disney World site when the ride will reopen. It is normal this time of year for the water ride to go down for refurbishment.

The attraction has you drift along fast-moving rapids with gushing waterfalls and bedrock amid the raging current before plummeting down a 20-foot slope.
