How virtual queues will change at Disney World starting in January

Some changes are being made to how virtual queues work at Walt Disney World when all-day park hopping returns to Walt Disney World for guests with park hopper tickets an annual passes, according to Disney World.

Guests will be able to join one attraction virtual queue at any Disney World theme park where they have a valid admission. Guests may hold one attraction virtual queue at a time.

  • Select admission types may also require a theme park reservation to join a virtual queue.
  • Guests do not need to be inside a theme park to request to join the virtual queue at 7 a.m
  • Guests must be inside the theme park to request to join the virtual queue at 1 p..m.

Currently, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom utilize the Virtual Queue system during normal park hours and Extended Evening Hours.

In addition, other changes taking place in January 2024 include:

  • The introduction of good-to-go” days for Annual Passholders where Annual Passholders may enter the theme parks without needing a reservation.
  • Guests who purchase date-based tickets, the standard Disney theme park tickets, no longer need to make theme park reservations
  • Disney Dining plans return. You can choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan.
