Reopening date for Disneyland’s Fantasmic! announced
Disneyland has announced that Fantasmic!, the nighttime spectacular that has been closed, will reopen on May 24, 2024.
“At a Fantasmic! cast meeting earlier this week, we announced that the show will return on May 24. We look forward to providing more information about Fantasmic! in the coming months, but for now this is all we have to share,” according to Disneyland.
The show has been closed since April 2023 when the Maleficent fire breathing dragon caught fire destroying the large figure during the second performance.
The story revolves around Mickey dreaming he is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. With a wave of his hands, he conducts scenes from Fantasia across enormous screens of water while brilliant sparks burst overhead. Pink elephants, swashbuckling pirates, princesses and more—including memorable scenes from Disney classics. When Mickey is suddenly pulled into the Magic Mirror, his dream takes a dark turn. The Evil Queen from Snow White conjures up some of Disney’s most dastardly villains.
Reportedly, the climatic battle between Mickey and Maleficent will not include Maleficent in the dragon form and there will be no special effects.
