Photos: World Celebration in EPCOT may open without Communicore
Everyone has been waiting for years for the major construction walls to come down around the entryway at EPCOT and we may soon see that as a reality, but according to aerial photos of World Celebration not everything will be open this December.
Earlier this year, Disney announced World Celebration would open in December with the following:
- Dreamer’s Point, where guests can sit next to a statue of Walt the Dreamer.
- CommuniCore Hall, which is described as an exhibit and gallery space (and maybe a place to bring back the cooking and mixology demonstrations that used to be central to the Food & Wine Festival). This will likely also include space for character meet-and-greets.
- CommuniCore Plaza, an outdoor concert and event space that will also be central to Epcot’s festivals.
- World Celebration Gardens, the lush landscaped space built around a central planter sitting on top of the five-ring Epcot logo.
But photos of World Celebration from @bioreconstruct show that CommuniCore Hall is still in need of a lot more work.
The left side of the above aerial photo shows CommuniCore Hall and you can see how much work still needs to be done and it is doubtful it will open next month. Construction will continue at CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, where a new fence is staged at left.
This aerial view gives us a good perspective of what’s coming. To the right is Spaceship Earth and at the bottom is Connections Eatery, Starbucks and the Creations shop. The center and to the left are new gardens. On top left is the new CommuniCore Hall and Plaza area and the top right is Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana.
Here is a closer look at the new gardens. Does the lower right corner look like a Hidden Olaf?
On the upper right side the box that we all believe is the new Walt Disney statue is still there.
