Starting today, you’ll have to ask for plastic lids, paper straws at quick service in Disney World
In an effort to achieve zero waste to landfill for its parks, resorts and cruise line, Disney World will start phasing out the availability of plastic lids and paper straws at its quick-service restaurants and snack locations across the resort starting today – Aug. 21, 2023.
The paper straws and plastic lids will be available, but you will have to request them from those working the counter, they will no longer be placed in the guest service areas with napkins and such.
Disney has already changed over the plastic straws to paper straws and has eliminated single-use plastic straws and stirrers at all owned and operated locations globally. It has already removed 200 million plastic straws and stirrers from the trash stream.
