San Fransokyo Square to open Aug. 31 at Disney California Adventure

San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure, will officially open on August 31, according to the Disneyland website.

Nestled in the not-too-distant future, this visionary project has transformed the once-silent seaside canneries of Pacific Wharf. The land is inspired by the setting of 2014’s “Big Hero 6” and will include new meet and greets for a talking Baymax and Hiro.

Intricate details throughout the district pay homage to its storied past, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history that shaped San Fransokyo Square. Every corner is adorned with clues, whispering tales of the vibrant cultural fusion that defines this unique destination. This include the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge.

At the southern end of San Fransokyo Square, a converted warehouse provides the chance for extraordinary encounters. Here, visitors may come face-to-face with the lovable healthcare companion, Baymax and Hiro.

The area is filed with a diverse dining experience (full menus are here), including:

  • Aunt Cass Café – Pop in for soups served in Boudin sourdough bread bowls, Japanese-inspired dishes and more.
