Disney 100 display at Grand Californian Hotel is a real treat
As part of the 100th celebration of The Walt Disney Company, the team at the Grand Californian Hotel the Disneyland Resort created a special confectionary castle with Mickey and his pals.
The castle stands 5-feet tall and 8-feet wide and has Pluto, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck standing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and contains five Hidden Mickeys.
It took 500 hours to design and craft the display with the help of six pastry chefs and one craftsman carpenter.
The display includes:
- 450 pounds of fondant
- 300 eggs
- 350 pounds of rice, cereal
- 250 pounds of white chocolate
- 150 pounds of marshmallows
- 10 pounds of glitter
