Excitement is building at Disney California Adventure Park as the highly anticipated “Rogers: The Musical” is set to make its grand debut at the Hyperion Theater. This all-new, one-act musical theater production is scheduled to run for a limited time, captivating audiences from June 30 through Aug. 31, 2023.

Disney enthusiasts and Marvel fans alike will be treated to a 30-minute spectacle that brings the story of Steve Rogers aka Captain America to life on stage. The production features a talented cast of singers and dancers who will be joined by beloved characters like Peggy Carter and Nick Fury, as well as select members of the Avengers.

Inspired by the fictional Broadway musical theater sequence in the hit Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” the real-life production of “Rogers: The Musical” promises to deliver an unforgettable experience. The show is the brainchild of book writer Hunter Bell, known for his Tony Award-nominated work on “[title of show],” and features five all-new songs composed by Grammy-winning artist Christopher Lennertz. The lyrics are penned by Jordan Peterson, Christopher Lennertz, and Alex Karukas. In addition to the original songs, the production will also include fan-favorites like “Save The City” from “Hawkeye” and “Star Spangled Man” from “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

“Rogers: The Musical” is scheduled to be performed multiple times per day, Tuesday through Saturday, throughout its limited-time engagement. Showtimes can be found on Disneyland.com and the Disneyland app. Here’s how to see the show.

Dan Fields, Executive Creative Director at Disney Live Entertainment, expressed his excitement about bringing the show to Disneyland Resort, stating, “The moment we saw ‘Save the City’ performed in the ‘Hawkeye’ series on Disney+, it sparked an idea: What if we could bring ‘Rogers: The Musical’ to life at Disneyland Resort? I’m thrilled that audiences are finally going to get to experience the humor, heroism, and heart of that show on stage at the Hyperion Theater.”

Producer Jennifer Magill added, “Both avid fans and guests who are new to the story of Captain America will relate to Steve’s journey to answer, ‘What do I aspire to? How do I get it? What choices do I have to make?’ Guests of all ages will be won over by the humanity and good-natured positivity of ‘Rogers: The Musical.'”

The production team made sure to maintain the essence of both the Avengers and Broadway traditions in the show. Composer, conductor, and arranger Christopher Lennertz explained, “It was important to us to continue the best of both Avengers and Broadway traditions, infusing humor, heart, and heroic action into the music. The score has memorable melodies and a huge scope of instrumentation that match the iconic presence of our hero. Audiences will hear big band jazz, modern funk, classic orchestra, and more.”

Book writer Hunter Bell expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “It is amazing and surreal to be part of the ‘Rogers: The Musical’ team, and the task of capturing this rich story in a one-act production is a lot less challenging with such brilliant collaborators. Love stories make great musicals, and our show is largely guided by the relationship between Steve Rogers and the remarkable Peggy Carter.”
