Disney World to start selling Annual Passes again this month
Walt Disney World will start selling Annual Passes again starting April 20, will be offering a special renewal benefit, and will allow Disney Vacation Club Members to start purchasing an annual pass a week earlier.
The number of passes will be limited and passes, or pass types, may be unavailable for purchase at any time, depending upon demand, according to Disney.
The lack of ability to purchase annual passes has been a thorn in the side of diehard fans who let their passes expire during the pandemic and have been upset about the difficulty of getting park reservations, which are needed in addition to a park ticket.
According to an announcement this morning: The Disney Incredi-Pass, Disney Sorcerer Pass and Disney Pirate Pass will resume new sales and can be purchased online beginning April 20, 2023.
Eligible Disney Vacation Club Members will have the opportunity to purchase the DVC Disney Sorcerer Pass online beginning April 13, 2023, as part of Membership Magic.
For those renewing, according to Disney:
“Passholders may choose to renew into any available pass type during their renewal window (60 days before and 30 days after expiration) with a special renewal benefit.
“Beginning April 20, 2023, existing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will have the option to upgrade their Annual Pass into any available pass type outside of their renewal window on our website or via the My Disney Experience app. The difference in price must be paid in full at the time of the upgrade and the new pass will have the same expiration date as the original pass.”
Theme park reservations will remain. The the theme park reservation calendar shows your booked reservations, available days and blockout dates. It also allows you to modify reservations.
Accoring to Disney, Annual Passholders staying at Disney Resort hotels or other select hotels are eligible to make theme park reservations for each day of their Resort stay(s). This is in addition to holding a maximum number of theme park reservations at a time on a rolling basis.
Starting on April 18, 2023, Annual Passholders may visit the theme parks after 2 p.m. without needing a theme park reservation––except Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom park. Pass blockout dates will continue to apply.
