Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is getting a star turn as Disney kicks off its 100th anniversary celebration.
Created by Walt Disney and his animating partner Ub Iwerks, Oswald debuted in 1927 and went on to appear in more than 20 short films. After Disney lost creative control of Oswald, he famously went on to create Mickey Mouse. Oswald did not return to the Disney fold until 2006. Since then, he has become a familiar face in video games, merchandise and, in 2022, his first new animated short.
Now that the Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary, Oswald is getting a star turn with a line of merchandise, including clothing, collectibles—and a lamp that really makes me wish I had room on my desk.
