‘Happily Ever After’ fireworks returns to Magic Kingdom on April 3
It’s coming back. Fan-favorite nighttime spectacular “Happily Ever After” is retunring to the Magic Kingdom on April 3 featuring all-new projections down Main Street, U.S.A., according to Disney.
The current fireworks show, “Disney Enchantment,” was introduced for the 50th anniversary celebration of Magic Kingdom on Oct. 1, 2021 to a warm reception by die-hard fans who immediately called for the return of “Happily Ever After.” Even though the show was introduce for the anniversary it did not have any mention of the history or honor the milestone. It was eventually later updated on Aug. 22, 2022 with an opening sequence featuring Walt Disney and paying homage to the 50th anniversary.
“Happily Ever After” first debuted on May 12, 2017, replacing “Wishes: A Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams.”
In addition, April 2 will be the last performance for “Harmonious” at EPCOT. Starting on April 3, “EPCOT Forever” will return to the World Showcase Lagoon as an interim show until the lagoon is cleared from the “Harmonious” barges. After that a new show will be introduced.
The message of “Harmonious” is similar to that of its long-time fan-favorite predecessor Illuminations: We are “a single unified tribe.” Harmonious is intended to get the message across in song.
