Photos: Crowds swarm to meet Mando and Grogu at Disneyland
The crowd slowly started to form across from the stairs to the marketplace inside Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They were all waiting to catch a glimpse of Mando and Grogu, who joined the lineup of characters walking through Batuu.
As anticipation grew, the crowd got larger with cast members asking everyone to leave a pathway for those who wanted to just walk by.
One woman said she had been waiting all day to try and catch him. When the Mandalorian emerged from the side of a building in his full beskar armor, her daughter piped up, “The man of our dreams.”
Over the warrior’s shoulder was a sling and a pouch where he carried his precious cargo – Grogu (or still called baby Yoda by many).
The two were immediately surrounded by the crowd wanting photos and to say “hi.” At times, cast members needed to remind people not to climb on rocks to get a glimpse.
Mando was able to part the crowd when he started walking and many times stopped to speak with passersby. Grogu interacted with the crowd in his own way, blinking, moving his head from side to side, as well as his ears, and making small sounds.
The next season of The Mandalorian will stream on Disney+ in February 2023.
