Disney Imagineers share detailed photos of new Moana attraction

Walt Disney Imagineers have shared on social media new photos showing some details in the rock work of the new Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana attraction that s expected to open in 2023 at EPCOT.

The new attraction in the World of Nature section of the theme park will be a lush exploration trail that invites guests to meet and play with magical, living water. Just like Moana’s friend the ocean, water will have a personality of its own, helping guests learn how to protect the natural water cycle in a fun and engaging way.

The area where the attraction will be located is just to the right of Spaceship Earth as you enter the park and walk toward The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

According to Walt Disney Imagineering: Throughout Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, guests will have the opportunity to discover characters from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana” carved into the rocks and waterways of their surroundings.

“Our Imagineers worked closely with the studio to develop the artistic style of these characters who will naturally take form within the water-filled landscape. We are excited to see guests make their way through this self-guided trail next year and discover how Moana and her friends truly inspired the surroundings of this experience!”
