Slight change in how to get a Rise of the Resistance 1 p.m. boarding group

It looks like Disney has made it a little easier when attempting to get a boarding pass for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance during the 1 p.m. virtual queue attempt.

In the past, you needed to be inside Hollywood Studios to attempt to join the queue. But, now you do not have to physically be in the park. You still need to have a Hollywood Studios park reservation and have badged into the park before 1 p.m.

So, if you head to the park and decide to leave after a few hours, you can attempt to join the queue from outside the park.

As a refresher here’s how to get a virtual queue.

For the 7 a.m. attempt

• Guests with a valid ticket or annual pass and a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to access the virtual queue system and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before you leave your Disney resort hotel, or wherever else nearby you might be at that time.
• Make sure that you are connected on your My Disney Experience app with everyone who is in your party that has a ticket and park reservation the night before you want to enter the queue.
• On the day you make your attempt, we suggest that at 6:59 a.m. you start refreshing the page until the Join button shows up. When the button appears, click on it and then click on Your Party immediately. Hopefully, you will get a place in the queue. If you have any issues with who is on the list, head over to Guest Services once you get to the park and see them.

For the 1 p.m. attempt

• The virtual queue will reopen daily at 1 p.m. for anyone who wasn’t already able to join a boarding group earlier in the day. While you do not need to be in the park, you and everyone in your party must have badged in and entered the park prior to 1 p.m.
• Make sure that you are connected on your My Disney Experience app with everyone who is in your party that has a ticket and park reservation the night before you want to enter the queue.
• On the day you make your attempt, we suggest that at 12:59 p.m. you start refreshing the page until the Join button shows up. When the button appears, click on it and then click on Your Party immediately. Hopefully, you will get a place in the queue. If you have any issues with who is on the list, head over to Guest Services once you get to the park and see them.
