Disney World to reopen theme parks in phases on Sept. 30
Earlier today we reported that Walt Disney World crews were assessing the impact of Hurricane Ian on the theme parks and to clear debris. Now, Disney is announced it will resume theme park and Disney Springs operations starting on Friday, Sept. 30.
The reopening will be taking place in a phased approach. Disney later today will be released the operating hours, Disney said.
In addition, Disney stated it will share more information about the company’s plan to support relief efforts “for our Florida neighbors soon,” according to Disney. “We. are seeing the impacts of Hurricane Ian across Florida and are thinking of our neighbors in Central Florida and across the state.
“We thank our first responders and community leaders for their courageous efforts in preparing for and managing the storm’s impact. To our cast members in Florida and in South Carolina, thank you for selflessly taking care of our guests,” according to a statement by Disney.
Park passes are now available for all four parks on Saturday, Oct. 1, which is EPCOT’s 40th anniversary.
