Cute alert: Red river hog is born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
There’s a new addition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge at Disney World with the birth of a red river hog last month, Disney announced.
The piglet is staying backstage and is bonding with mom “Daisy” and dad “Cheech for now. No name has yet been announced for the little piggy.
Red river hogs get their name from the red coat and tendency to often wallow in rivers and streams. The are also called “tufted pigs” due to their long, white whiskers and tufts found on the ears, according to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute.
