Yes, you can bring your own food into Walt Disney World
Choking on the price of food for your next Disney World trip? It’s understandable. Without the dining plan, a lot of guests are feeling the pinch.
But you do have another option: You can pack some of your own food and drinks and bring them into Disney World parks.
A lot of people we talk to are surprised Disney would allow this, but it’s true. Guests can bring their own food and nonalcoholic beverages into the parks, as long as they are not in glass containers.
There are a few other rules, which seem pretty obvious: Your food should not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigeration or temperature control. Oh, and there’s one more that seems just like common courtesy: your food should not have “pungent odors.”
So the next time you want to hit the parks and save a few bucks, consider packing some PB&Js and soda or juice in a cooler back. You can even put your bag in a locker if you don’t want to tote it around all day.
If you don’t mind carrying it, try a fully insulated cooler backpack. Here are a few to consider. Be sure you check the measurements and think about how much room you might need.
Oh, and if your drinks get warm, don’t forget you can always get a cup of ice (or ice water) at any quick service restaurant for no charge.
