Relaxation stations being removed around Walt Disney World
The Relaxation Stations, first installed at various locations around the four Walt Disney World theme parks to provide a place for people to unmask outside, are now being removed.
The change in the face mask rules, no longer requiring guests to wear face coverings in “outdoor common areas,” makes the Relaxation Stations moot.
The stations opened in July 2020 around Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Each area had limited capacity with an entrance and exit monitored by Cast Members. The seating and tables were physically distanced. Where seats and tables were not available floor markers were placed.
As of today, all of the stations in the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have been closed.
This includes the stations at Pete’s Silly Sideshow, Tomorrowland Terrace, and Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom. And, at Test Track and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway pavilion.
