Photos: Structures up on Universal Orlando’s EPIC Universe construction site
The opening of EPIC Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, is still three years away and in addition to earth being moved structures are now up on the site.
Epic Universe, which will feature a new theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more, is located on a 750-acre site that nearly doubles Universal’s total available acreage in Central Florida. It is located a few miles from Universal Orlando’s current theme parks, south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard.
While no official announcements have been made on the various sections of the park, here is what we know and what is rumored to come to the theme park scheduled to open in summer 2025:
- Super Nintendo World – A Comcast executive confirmed rumors of the land will contain Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge ( an augmented reality dark ride), Yoshi’s Adventure, Power Up Band Key Challenges and a Donkey Kong Rollercoaster.
- Classic Monsters Land
- Ministry of Magic – From the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” series.
- How to Train Your Dragon Land – A roller coaster is planned
