Photos: Festival of Fantasy Parade returns to Disney World after 2 years

The big parade has returned to Magic Kingdom. The Festival of Fantasy Parade returned today with Maleficent – the fiery breathing dragon and multiple floats.

The parade has been on hiatus for almost 2 years thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. While Disney introduced short cavalcades, consisting of one or two floats, this will be the first time the entire parade will be performed. And, it comes back eight years to the day after it was originally introduced on March 9, 2014.

The big change that has taken place is the the absence of the Merida parade float as well as the numerous dancers that normally have accompanied the floats.

The parade is being held now twice a day at at noon and 3 p.m.
