Universal Orlando drops face mask requirement for vaccinated visitors
Universal Orlando will again no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear face masks indoors starting tomorrow, Feb. 12, 2022.
The company said it was updated its policy based on local trends and conditions. It is still encouraging unvaccinated guests to wear masks indoors. This effects all theme parks, hotels, shops and restaurants on the resort property.
The latest COVID-19 update for Orange County, where Universal is located, shows that infection rates were on the way down, but the county stil has an 18.5% positivity rate, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Universal Orlando instituted its mask mandate the first time when it reopened on June 5, 2020. It then suspended the mask mandate on May 21, 2020 only to once again implement the mask mandate on Dec. 24, 2021.
