Disney moves 3 rides from Individual Lightning Lane to Disney Genie+
Disney World is temporarily moving three attractions from the Individual Lightning Lane selections to the Genie+ list of attractions.
The change means the three rides will now be available on the $15 a day Disney Genie+ service instead of the à la carte Individual Lightning Lane sections.
The change, which Disney announced, will take effect from Feb. 25 through Aug. 7, 2022, and includes Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Disney said it is making the change to “help to give Guests more options as we prepare for a busy spring and summer season.”
This change means more people will be eligible to ride the attraction without having to shell out more than the $15 a day for Disney Genie+ and should help spread out the guests more among the attractions. It is also a selling point for more people to purchase Disney Genie+ .
Last quarter more than a third of domestic park guests purchased either Genie+ or Lightning Lane or both. That number rose to more than 50% during the holiday period,” Disney CEO Bob Chapek said during the most recent earnings call on Feb. 9.
The four rides remaining as Individual Lightning Lane selections from Feb. 25 through Aug. 7 will be:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios
- Avatar Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom
